Detectives are investigating following the discovery of a man’s body in Walthamstow.
Police were called by a member of the public at approximately 1.40pm on Monday, 24 August to St James Park, E17, after a person was found unresponsive.
A man, aged in his thirties, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers. Formal identification awaits.
A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.
At this stage the death is being treated as suspicious.
A crime scene is in place and enquiries continue. At this early stage no arrests have been made.
Officers will be conducting increased patrols locally so residents can expect to see an additional police presence in the area.
