A motorist who is reported to have failed to stop for Kent Police officers in Dover has been arrested thanks to the help of PD Yankee.
On Thursday 10 June 2021, at around 11.45pm, Yankee and his handler were called to assist in locating a man who had been seen driving a vehicle in Coombe Valley Road. Patrols had attempted to stop the car due to concerns of drink driving but the driver reportedly left the area at high speed.
The Police Constable and his dog searched the area of St Radigunds, where he was believed to be on foot near to Victoria Street after abandoning the vehicle.
Yankee tracked a 26-year-old man to the grounds of a business premises at the junction of London Road and Coombe Valley Road. He was found sitting amongst some overgrowth under a tree and was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, dangerous driving and failing to stop.
